For the past 3 months, production for the new documentary series, A Rising Tide, has been underway. In fact, we’ve already filmed the first eight episodes.

What is A Rising Tide? A Rising Tide is a documentary series that follows 3 Colorado students as they learn about becoming future stewards of the ocean. They have received a full scholarship that includes an open water scuba certification, a full set of scuba gear (mask, snorkel, fins, wetsuit and BCD), an introduction to marine science, and an all-expenses paid dive trip to the Florida Keys. The finalists

We chose the 3 scholarships from video submissions. In fact, there were so many great entries, that our big-hearted executive producer, Graham Casden, decided to give partial scholarships to 5 students. Now, these 8 teenagers are embarking on a scuba diving and marine science adventure together.

The premier of episode 1 airs on March 22nd, 2018, on YouTube. Watch it directly on ARisingTide.tv or the YouTube channel, A Rising Tide Show.

We won’t tell you yet who the 3 winners are because you have to watch the show to find out.

A Rising Tide will run for 18 episodes, one every week from March until July.

In episode 1, we discover our 8 finalists and learn why this show is important. As the show continues, the students will be learning the ins and outs of scuba diving from Cathy Christopher and Klara Fejer, while getting extra tips from the show’s host, Mehgan Heaney-Grier.

Mehgan comes to A Rising Tide from a background of free-diving world records, movie stunt diving, tv shows, and experience with ocean conservation.

The students will also be meeting with several scientists in the field of marine biology and ocean ecology. Look for Dr. Mikki McComb-Kobza to drop in from time to time, as well as several others, but you’ll have to watch the shows to find out.

The show has already attracted some great sponsors like Mares, who donated the scuba gear, and Paralenz, a new dive-camera manufacturer.
